​Opposing Force 2 was an ambitious Half-Life 2 modification that focused on making an unofficial sequel to Gearbox Software's award winning standalone addon for original Half-Life by Valve Software - Half-Life: Opposing Force. Since many gamers think of Opposing Force as one of the greatest FPS standalone addons ever made, it was only a matter of time for the community to start working on a fan-made sequel as there was none planned by Gearbox Software in the first place. Although many have tried and failed “Opposing Force 2” has come further than anyone else's work and seemed to have a bright future.

The “Opposing Force 2” story takes place at the “Seven Hour War” aftermath. Fighting against blood shedding synths and frightening aliens, Adrian Shepard has to struggle his way with his fellow comrades from the Phoenix Command, with the main objective of stopping the teleportation of a Combine Citadel.
